Free upgrade enables service operations to meet WEEE guidelines
October 2007

VCI, the leading developer of service management solutions, has upgraded Service Accent with an improved Serialised Stock Control module. This free upgrade will enable service management operations to further streamline tracking of all products, parts and consumables and demonstrate compliance with all WEEE guidelines for the disposal of electrical waste.

The Serialised Stock Control module allocates a unique serial number to every item booked into stock to provide a complete audit trail showing when and where stock was used as well as tracking items replaced during service calls. It also stores a range of other data such as dispatch, docket and waste disposal reference notes.

According to Tony Milford, Managing Director of VCI: "This powerful new enhancement will deliver additional business opportunities to users especially as larger organisations are beginning to require suppliers to demonstrate compliance with WEEE guidelines."

The system also provides a solution for organisations that supply or resell items such as oil, toner, refrigerant and piping/cabling in different quantities to how they are booked into stock. In addition, batch invoicing has been included to compliment the batch job logging routines in this latest upgrade to simplify and speed up the invoicing process and deliver cost savings for service operations and their customers.
